Bun/Word Newspaper is an artist book documenting two public interventions which took place in Kelowna British Coloumbia and Halifax Nova Scotia. Stale dinner rolls were placed in Kelowna City Park for their annual easter egg hunt. Cookies baked into the shape of the word 'words' were placed in five grocery stores. The media documented both projects. Newspaper articles discussing two food related interventions are reproduced in original conext. The interventions were executed by Sandy Plotnikoff (Bun Bun) and Lucy Pullen (Eat Your Words). The artist book is available at Art Metropole, Toronto and Printed Matter NYC. | |

Sandy has a collection of hooded sweatshirts. To expand his idea of such a collection Lucy Pullen and Sandy Plotnikoff responded formally to the contents of a thriftstore by stacking, layering and organizing clothes, wigs, hats and blankets. We entered and left with a camera, returning all materials used to make the work to the shelves. A 16 page full colour artist book was printed in an edition of 1000 and, distributed for free. This method of distribution perfectly coincides with the spirit of the project. | |
